Student Spotlight: Jessica Z.L. An

Class year: Class of 2021 (MS4)

What is your favorite thing about Pitt Med?
The people, hands-down! I’ve met incredible mentors and educators (including many Pitt Med alumni) throughout my four years at Pitt Med who have encouraged and shaped me in my journey to becoming a physician.

Do you have any specialties of interest? What are your career-aspirations post-graduation?
I’m applying to Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency programs for the 2021 Match. I’m passionate about medical education, primary care across the lifespan, developmental disability, and culturally contextual healthcare and would love to connect if you are too!

Fun Facts about Jessica:
I sing alto in The PalPITTations, Pitt’s graduate health sciences a cappella group!

I was cast and filmed as an extra for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (the Mr. Rogers movie featuring Tom Hanks) in the fall of my MS2 year!

I love Disney and worked in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World in college!

I once made dessert for the King and Queen of Sweden when working in the pastry kitchen of Le Bec-Fin in Philadelphia.

At the end of medical school, I will be a two-time Pitt alum - H2P!
