Student Spotlight: Eniola Ayo-Gbenjo

What year are you and where are you from?

I am a first-year medical student (MS1), and I am from Laurel, Maryland.

What motivates you to become a doctor?

What motivates me to become a doctor is my commitment to addressing racial and socioeconomic health disparities and serving the needs of underserved communities. I want to be a provider who not only treats illness but also actively works to bridge gaps in healthcare access and equity.

What do you like most about Pitt Med?

What I love most about Pitt Med is the community. Since my first day at Scaife, I have been amazed by the faculty, upperclassmen, and peers who are committed to my success in this medical school journey. Pitt Med has been a place where I feel confident in growing as a person, learning medical knowledge, and making an impact on the community around me.

Do you have any areas of interest? What are your career aspirations?

I am generally interested in maternal and women's health. However, I am open to learning more about all the other impactful medical specialties.
